Why it's worth checking out

Freycinet Coastal Retreat is a private, self-contained waterfront house in the Coles Bay area, offering a quiet base for exploring the Freycinet Peninsula. It is only a short drive from Freycinet National Park and the region’s well-known attractions, including Wineglass Bay, the Hazards Mountain Range and Friendly Beaches. With the house positioned just metres from the water, the outlook across Great Oyster Bay is central to the stay.

The retreat is designed for guests who want space and privacy rather than a shared accommodation setting. Booking the property means having the whole house to yourself, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The main bedroom has a king-size bed, ocean views, an ensuite and direct access to the main deck. The second and third bedrooms can be arranged with king or twin king-single beds, making the layout suitable for a couple, family or small group. Linen and towels are supplied, and a travel cot and high chair are available for guests travelling with young children.

Inside, the open-plan house includes a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, hotplates, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator and coffee pod machine, along with cookware, crockery and cutlery. The living area has a wall-mounted smart television and electronic blinds, while the bathrooms include heated towel rails, hairdryers and floor heating. A washing machine, dryer, Wi-Fi, self check-in and free on-site parking in a double carport add practical convenience for a longer or more independent stay.

The wide veranda, floor-to-ceiling windows and private outdoor deck make it easy to spend time taking in the coastal setting. Guests can dine outdoors, use the gas barbecue or watch for wildlife such as dolphins, whales, seals, sea eagles, wallabies, wombats and blue-tongue lizards. In cooler weather, the house has reverse-cycle heating, additional bedroom heaters and a wood fire for winter use. At night, the deck is set up for stargazing, with the possibility of seeing the southern Aurora. Created by the owners as a dedicated holiday house, Freycinet Coastal Retreat suits couples seeking a peaceful escape as well as families looking to combine a comfortable base with walks, beaches and other Freycinet activities.

Spot Score

The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 5.0 from 5 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
