Why it's worth checking out

110 Hampden Apartments offers short-stay accommodation in Battery Point, with nine self-contained apartments in a small local family-run property. The apartments have been operating since December 2016 and are set up for guests who want more independence than a conventional hotel stay. There is no large 24-hour reception, but the owners say they remain available by phone or email before, during and after a visit. Reception is staffed during set weekday and Saturday periods, with after-hours contact available.

The accommodation is made up of six one-bedroom apartments and three two-bedroom apartments, including some one-bedroom layouts with a separate study or dressing room. The one-bedroom options are suited to one or two guests, while the two-bedroom apartments can accommodate up to four. Each apartment has its own private entrance and bathroom with a walk-in shower, and all are reached by external stairs. As the apartments differ from one another, guests can choose a layout and outlook that matches their needs rather than being allocated a standard room.

The facilities are designed for longer or more self-sufficient stays. Apartments include a modern, fully equipped kitchen with European appliances, utensils, a dishwasher, microwave, kettle and Nespresso coffee pod machine, along with a washing machine, iron, ironing board and clothes airer. Linen, towels, toiletries and a hairdryer are provided. Wireless internet, a flat-screen Smart TV and air conditioning are also available, while complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and milk offer a few useful basics on arrival. Local Hobart artwork adds a sense of place to the otherwise clean, modern interiors.

Many apartments have views towards Hobart, Battery Point, the Derwent River or neighbouring gardens, with higher-level apartments generally offering the broader outlook. The location is practical for exploring the area on foot: Salamanca Market is described as a five-minute stroll away, while Constitution Dock and the MONA Ferry Terminal are around seven minutes away. Restaurants, cafés, bakeries, convenience stores and bars are also nearby, and major supermarkets in Sandy Bay are about one kilometre away. The apartments suit couples, solo travellers and small families or groups who value a private kitchen, separate living space and a central Battery Point base.

The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 3.9 from 60 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
